The travelers, who are planning to travel in countryside for a long time, it is better to have vaccination of rabies. If you bitten or injured please, seek medical advice without delay.
Tap water in Ulaanbaatar and other urban areas is safe to drink, but out on the steppes, it is needed to boil water for 5 minutes to kill off bacteria. Some milk is unpasteurised and should be boiled. Powdered and tinned milk and mineral water is available and is advised.
For the winter travel, warm, felt-lined boots and thick mittens are necessity to fend off frostnip and frostbite and avoid cold. In summertime, be aware of sunstroke and sunburn. Mongolia is situated on the high altitude above see level, therefore, some travelers, who are from country on low altitude, may feel not well such as dizzying, headache and so on. So they should bring some multi-vitamins tablets.
